CTC MISSION & ACCOMPLISHMENTS
CTC exists to provide equal opportunities for members of the Central Oregon community
to be entertained and enriched by high quality theatrical productions, and to
participate meaningfully in the creation and support of these productions. CTC
strives to promote not only its own productions, but cultural arts throughout the
region as well.
CTC is the only theatre in Central Oregon that is entirely volunteer-based. While
a skeleton staff of three manages the organization’s day-to-day operations, all
productions are directed, acted, designed, built and painted by volunteers. Those
with a wealth of experience teach those with little or none. It´s a rare
production at CTC that doesn´t feature at least one new face onstage or
backstage—and more often than not the new volunteers have just as much to offer.
CTC presents six full-length, Mainstage productions yearly, with 12 – 17 performances
each. CTC often offers additional presentations such as dramatic readings, a limited
run of a play or a late night studio production of cutting-edge theatre. CTC
was the ‘parent company’ to The Bend Theatre for Young People and The Children’s
Music Theatre Group. These groups are specialized for the teaching and
performance of theatre by children of all school ages.
